William the Conqueror and the Perche

from 10 April 2027

to 31 December 2027

"When the Perche crosses the path of William the Conqueror" is a historical exhibition that highlights the little-known links between the Perche and the dynasty of William the Conqueror on the occasion of the millennium of his birth. Through two major episodes (the siege of Rémalard during the revolt of Robert Curthose and the marriage of Matilda of Perche with Henry I Beauclerc), the exhibition reveals the strategic and political role of the Perche in the construction of Anglo-Norman power. Accessible to all audiences, it combines historical narrative, genealogy, and contextualization to rediscover an essential aspect of the medieval heritage of the Perche. Practical information: For all audiences Free Admission
