Bannow Norman Festival

from 26 June 2027

to 27 June 2027

Bannow Norman Festival

At the beginning of May 1169, over 855 years ago, three ships made landfall at Bannow Island, a small island located within an estuary on Ireland’s southern coast, close to the village of Carrig-on-Bannow. This marked the beginning of the Norman conquest of Ireland, a turning point in our national history.

As part of the 2027 Year of the Normans programme, Carrig-on-Bannow comes alive with vibrant Norman-themed pageantry and re-enactments, alongside workshops, lecture series, music, and a wide range of engaging cultural and heritage events for all to enjoy.
