Conference

This conference is aimed at both scientists and the general public, with the goal of showcasing and sharing the advancements of the TapAS project (Bayeux Tapestry, Annotation and Spatialization), supported by the Équipex+ Biblissima+.

It highlights the results of indexing and scientific annotation work carried out within the Spatialized Information Documentary System (SIDS), which offers a very high-quality digital representation of the Bayeux Tapestry.

Centered around the theme "of horses and men," the presentations explore the contributions and research avenues related to these representations.
On the occasion of the return of the Tapestry to Normandy, the conference also includes a presentation of the new museum of Bayeux and its renewed museography.

Finally, it addresses the challenges of conserving the artwork, reviewing its alterations and the major stages of its restoration.

An accessible and enriching event to better understand, observe, and transmit an exceptional heritage.
