Gaelic Capital – Norman Stronghold
A series of free guided tours around Ferns, ancient capital of Leinster  


“Gaelic Capital – Norman Stronghold” invites visitors to explore Ferns, the ancient capital of Leinster, and discover its central place in Wexford’s rich medieval heritage.

Led by knowledgeable local volunteers, the tour follows in the footsteps of saints, Gaelic kings and Norman knights. Along the way, it brings history to life through stories, landmarks and local insight.

Tours take place four times throughout 2027 — in February, May, August and November — offering visitors the chance to experience Ferns across the seasons.

Audience: suitable for adults and children aged 10+
Duration: Approximately 1 hour
