The siege of the castle in 1053 by Duke William against his uncle William of Talou

The tour traces the history of the site and recounts its capture by William, Duke of Normandy. Through the discovery of the castle and its historical context, the visit sheds light on the political and military stakes of that period.

Various activities complement the program, particularly around medieval games. Skill games, board games, and Viking-inspired games allow visitors to discover some of the leisure activities practiced during the Middle Ages, including alquerque or the fox game.

July days also honor Norman medieval outfits and the art of passementerie. A thematic presentation and a dedicated workshop explore these crafts related to costume and ornamentation.

On Sunday, July 19, a narrated and musical visit enriches the exploration of the castle by offering a sensitive and immersive approach to its history.

The theme of the July days focuses on costumes and accessories in the time of William. A musical animation is also offered.
