The siege of the castle in 1053 by Duke William against his uncle William of Talou

On the very site of the 1054 siege, this visit allows you to discover the history of the castle in the Norman era and the circumstances of its capture by William, then Duke of Normandy.

Offered in various forms, commented, narrated, or accompanied by music, it provides an immersion into the historical context of the 11th century. Eight visits are organized throughout the day for groups of fifteen people, by reservation.

Sunday is dedicated to discovering medieval cuisine through a meal inspired by William's time, as well as a narrated visit highlighting the history of the site and its inhabitants.

Medieval games also play an important role in the programming. Skill games and strategy games, such as alquerque, merelles, the game of the mill, or fox and geese, allow for a playful exploration of the pastimes practiced in the Middle Ages.

The theme of the days is medieval music. Led by bagpipers.
