Historical sites from 1047 to 1967: mills, fords, chapels, railway, mines

This bike ride connects Caen to Clécy via the Green Way over a route of about 40 kilometers.
Throughout the journey, 920 years of history unfold through numerous stops dedicated to the historical and industrial heritage of the region.
The route allows you to discover sites reflecting different eras, from the location of mills mentioned in 1047 to the ore crushers of the 1960s, including Romanesque chapels from the 12th century and the former buffet of a railway station from the 20th century.

Punctuated by regular stops, this exploration highlights the evolution of landscapes, activities, and ways of life in the Orne valley. Arrival in Clécy is expected around 1 PM.
Lunch, the return to Caen, and potential recharging of electric bike batteries are organized freely. Several dining establishments allow for a break on-site; participants using an electric bike are encouraged to bring their charger.
