Museum of Medieval Kilkenny

A new family focused tourism attraction in the heart of Irelands Medieval Capital, Kilkenny

A fun, exciting and immersive experience for families and children, telling authentic, local Kilkenny stories of what life was like in Medieval Kilkenny under the theme "the Rich, the Poor, the Rogues and the Righteous".

The Medieval Kilkenny Experience contains a collection of ancient buildings at the heart of Ireland’s Medieval capital - Kilkenny. Take a guided tour through the 800-year-old St Mary’s Church and climb high into the Town Hall’s original Clock Tower to get panoramic views over the City. Or simply relax with a coffee and wander through the history of Kilkenny at your own pace.

Young and old can explore among the gravestones and wildflowers or let their imagination take flight in unique playful spaces. In true horrible history style, discover the darker side of medieval Kilkenny in caverns and tombs below ground.

Meet the world’s most famous knight, powerful Mayors and wealthy Medieval Merchants. Or meet the much less fortunate victims of bizarre medieval punishments including the poor handmaid burned at the stake for witchcraft. The fun and relaxing way to discover Ireland’s medieval capital.
