Meath Capital Conservation Projects

Meath’s Capital Projects programme focuses on protecting, stabilising, and enhancing the county’s most significant heritage assets. Guided by the Conservation Management Plan, the programme prioritises essential structural conservation, improved visitor access, and long‑term safeguarding of historic landscapes.

Key works include masonry repairs, environmental management along sensitive river corridors, upgrades to paths and signage, and the development of high‑quality interpretation for visitors.

Archaeological monitoring, climate‑resilience measures, and scheduled maintenance cycles ensure that interventions respect the historic fabric while preparing sites for future pressures. 

Areas of focus are Navan, Trim, Kells, Athboy.
