The Millennium Screens

Cinema

As a founding figure of Normandy, William the Conqueror leaves a lasting mark in the history of Domfront en Poiraie, a strategic city in his territorial defense.

On this occasion, a cinematic cycle entitled “The Screens of the Millennium” takes place at the municipal cinema.

Carried out in partnership with the Medieval Festival of Domfront, the Socio-Cultural Committee – Cinema section – and the League of Education Normandy, Génériques, this project offers the opportunity to discover a past era through present forms of communication. Cinema thus becomes a vector of emotion and transmission, a space for encounters where the built heritage of the city resonates with the visual stories that shape the medieval imagination.

The programming is organized around two complementary sessions to reach a varied audience.

The first session, dedicated to young audiences, features the screening of an animated or adventure film that addresses the legends and culture of the Middle Ages in an accessible and playful way.

The second session, open to all, highlights a film centered around the medieval theme.

The titles of the scheduled films are yet to be defined.
