Ordinary Normans
Everyday Life in Norman Dublin

Ordinary Normans is a public engagement programme focused on everyday life in Norman Dublin, one of the most important Norman cities of medieval Europe.

Delivered by Dublinia during the European Year of the Normans in 2027, the programme will include a major temporary exhibition, a lunchtime lecture series, dedicated Norman walking tours, living history activities, school education workshops and a programme of Norman-themed public events.

Through the lives of merchants, craftspeople, women, children and migrants, the exhibition and activities will explore how Norman culture shaped daily life in Dublin and how the city was connected to the wider Norman world.

Developed in collaboration with Irish and European heritage partners, the programme will place local stories within a shared European context, making Norman history accessible, engaging and relevant for today’s audiences.
