The Normans at Cahir Castle

This year-long sculptural installation at Cahir Castle will illustrate the ingenious engineering skills of the Normans, in one of Ireland’s best-preserved medieval castles. The installation will include several sculptural wooden pieces, located in the Outer Ward of the Castle.

Created by renowned sculptor Philip Quin, the pieces will depict medieval siege engines with a contemporary twist. 

The sculptures will fire the imagination of visitors and will celebrate this auspicious occasion of Normans 2027, creating wonderful photo opportunities to be shared globally.

Viewing of the installation is included in normal visit Cahir Castle admission ticket
