Tri the Hook

From Norman Shores to Finish Lines

Tri the Hook is an annual sprint triathlon set on the scenic Hook Peninsula, showcasing some of the region’s most striking coastal landscapes. The event features a 750 m open-water swim at Baginbun, followed by a 20 km cycle route through the peninsula to the iconic Hook Lighthouse, and finishes with a 5 km run in the village of Fethard-on-Sea.

Known for its welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, Tri the Hook attracts both beginners taking part in their first triathlon and more experienced athletes seeking an enjoyable and well-organised race. The combination of accessible distances and dramatic sea views creates a distinctive sporting experience that celebrates both fitness and the natural beauty of the area.

The Tri the Hook Sprint Triathlon is organised by Hook Tourism, with the support of sponsors including Scurri, and attracts participants from across the local and national triathlon community.
