The Vikings as seen by Hollywood, a nod from the city of American cinema to the early Normans.

Released in 1958, The Vikings by Richard Fleischer showcases all the virtuosity of the beloved Cinemascope of this great Hollywood director. Starring Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Ernest Borgnine, and Janet Leigh, the film brings together the major figures of adventure cinema of the time.

Erik, son of the queen of Northumbria and the Viking chief Ragnar, grows up among slaves. Unaware of their blood relation, he becomes the sworn enemy of Einar, Ragnar's legitimate son. Their rivalry intensifies into a violent struggle, soon disrupted by the arrival of Morgane, a captive English princess promised to Einar, but in love with Erik.

Passion, revenge, and grand landscapes compose this epic fresco, magnified by the music of the Norwegian composer Martin Romberg, for an intense rediscovery of this adventure film classic. His work, nourished by mythology, nature, and literature, reinvents the symphonic tradition by infusing it with a unique narrative and cinematic sensitivity.
This creation offers a vibrant rediscovery of the film, where legend and music unite to resurrect the spirit of Viking sagas.
