Calligraphy Workshop

This introductory calligraphy workshop allows participants to discover the art of beautiful writing alongside a professional. It offers a first approach to the techniques, tools, and gestures that bring handwritten letters to life.

Through the learning of different historical alphabets, such as the uncial with its soft and rounded shapes or the Carolingian inherited from the Carolingian era, the workshop traces the evolution of writing and the skills that accompany it. This immersion also echoes the work done in medieval scriptoria, where copyists produce richly decorated manuscripts with rigor and precision.

Combining heritage discovery, artistic practice, and mastery of gesture, this activity offers a creative and accessible experience, highlighting the richness of handwritten writing and calligraphic traditions.
