France-England, I love you, me neither
This conference brings together specialists from various disciplines to discuss exchanges and influences between France and England. The program includes presentations from Xavier Hélary (Joan of Arc and the English), Jacques d’Andlau (The Camp of the Golden Cloth), Line Cottegnies (Franco-English relations in the works of Shakespeare), Sylvain Ledda (Dandyism), and Alexandre de Vitry, (English rock seen from France).
Part of an annual cycle of conferences associated with the Joan of Arc Festivals in Rouen, this event provides a scientific and multidisciplinary perspective on historical themes that still resonate today. Each edition is based on an episode from the history of Joan of Arc to broaden the discussion to broader questions. Previous meetings have explored Women in Arms (2024), Stories of Inquisitions (2025), and Stories of Witches from Antiquity to Today (2026).
The conference is also complemented by staged readings of texts presented by students from the University of Rouen Normandy, creating an original dialogue between research, heritage, and artistic creation.
