Musical weekend in the Pays de Falaise

On Saturday, the Forum hall in Falaise will host two performances by the Pays de Falaise Harmony Orchestra, conducted by Christophe Guilbert, in the presence of composer Thierry Deleruyelle. The first part features the association's String Orchestra, under the direction of Jean-Christophe Masson, opening the program. The repertoire, dedicated to the Viking epic, highlights European works. The concert concludes with the premiere of a piece commissioned from Thierry Deleruyelle, inspired by the events depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry and performed by the Pays de Falaise Harmony Orchestra.

On Sunday, a musical day will focus on brass instruments in the city center of Falaise. Ensembles and amateur musicians from Calvados, Manche, and Orne will gather for open-air performances with free access. This event will culminate at the Forum in Falaise with a concert by the Imperial Brass Band. Following the performance, the first screening of a clip created by Jonathan Perrut will be unveiled. Filmed in Falaise, this movie visually depicts the work composed by Thierry Deleruyelle and performed by the amateur musicians of the Pays de Falaise Harmony Orchestra.
