Canterbury Medieval Pageant and Trail 2027

The Norman Edition

Sound the fanfare and ready your shields—Canterbury’s Medieval Family Trail is back for an unforgettable weekend of Norman adventure!

Join us on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 July 2027 as we celebrate the reopening of Canterbury’s Norman Castle. Step into the past with a spectacular visit from the Norman Fellowship, featuring noble lords, battle-ready infantry, and some very special guests.

The festivities begin with a vibrant parade through Canterbury’s historic streets, launching a one-day family trail packed with hands-on Norman-themed activities. Visit five or more trail stops and claim your reward, gleaming gold (chocolate) coin!

Across the weekend, immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of medieval life. Explore the Norman encampment at Canterbury Castle, marvel at Canterbury’s stunning new Paper Tapestry inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry, and enjoy live performances, bustling medieval markets, and interactive encampments throughout the city centre.
