Château Ganne, 1,000 years of shared heritage

For a weekend, Château Ganne offers immersion into the heart of the 11th century, discovering the time of Duke William, his tales, and the legacies that shaped Norman history.
Located in the heart of Normandy Switzerland, the site is among the major medieval ensembles of the region. Built from the 10th century and occupied until the 13th century, this fortress of the lords of Pommeraye goes through several phases of development before being gradually abandoned. Archaeological research has uncovered its organization, of which imposing remains still stand today. Now preserved, the site combines historical heritage, landscapes, and biodiversity.

In this environment, an immersive festival presents a varied program: historical encampments, demonstrations of know-how, performances, participatory workshops, and activities punctuate the weekend.
The course also highlights the links between medieval societies and the environment.

Botanical walks and activities dedicated to the uses of nature - medicinal plants, food, crafts, daily practices - illuminate how natural resources structured life in the Middle Ages.

On Saturday evening, an immersive evening takes over the site and blends history, imagination, and emotion in a unique atmosphere.

At the crossroads of heritage, living history, nature, and creation, "Château Ganne, 1,000 years of shared heritage" offers an exploration of the territory's roots and highlights a millennium of history at the heart of Normandy Switzerland.
