Conference - The epic of Robert of Torp and the extraordinary story of Tancrede's sons...

10 April 2027

This event revolves around a conference presented by the association Normandie Sicile, specialized in the study of Norman conquests of the 11th century. It highlights the history of the sons of Tancred of Hauteville, a minor Norman lord whose descendants play a major role in the conquest of southern Italy and Sicily. This epic is notably presented in the work published by the association, The King Roger II - The Legacy of the Normans in Sicily. Through an illustrated conference, Roger Cucciardi recounts this lesser-known aspect of Norman history and sheds light on the legacy left by the Hautevilles in the Mediterranean. A time for exchange with the speaker completes the meeting. An exhibition is presented in the chapel before and after the conference, accompanied by a bookshop table.
