Conference on the murals of Marchésieux

This conference led by Vincent Juhel, a medieval historian, invites the public to discover the exceptional set of mural paintings preserved in the choir of the Saint-Manvieu church in Marchésieux. Uncovered after the damage suffered during the events of 1944, these works dating from the first half of the 14th century constitute one of the most remarkable medieval ensembles in Manche. Through the representations of the legend of Saint-Manvieu, the lives of local saints, and biblical scenes, this conference will provide a better understanding of the artistic, historical, and spiritual richness of this heritage classified as a Historical Monument.
