PORTRAIT MARTA CUSCUNA Three creations and a meeting Corvidae - When species is the television series written for the RAI 3 show La Fabbrica del Mondo by Marco Paolini and Telmo Pievani. The series, consisting of three seasons, comes off the screen to arrive in theaters. The protagonists, a group of ravens, watch what our species has done to the Earth. The show questions possible remedies for the damage inflicted on our planet and the possibility of establishing a new harmony between nature and finally sustainable progress through the amused and disillusioned gaze of this group of mechanical crows, manipulated by a system of joysticks and bicycle brake cables. Born in Monfalcone, a small industrial town known for its shipyards, it is thanks to her training at the European School for the Art of the Actor (prima del teatro) that Marta Cuscunà meets some of the greatest masters of contemporary theater. In 2006, she performed in Merma Neverdies, a performance with puppets by Joan Mirò directed by Joan Baixas. In 2007, she acted in Indemoniate, a show by Giuliana Musso and Carlo Tolazzi directed by Massimo Somaglino. In 2009, she was in Spain for Inocencia Criminal, a production by the teatre de la claca company in Barcelona directed by Joan Baixas. In 2011, thanks to a scholarship, she participated in … only thinking of this about me…, an unprecedented collaboration designed by the actors and musicians of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, directed by Christian Burgess. In 2012, she directed her second show: la semplicità ingannata satira per attrice e pupazze sul lusso d’esser donne. She then interpreted Glauce in the show la città ha fondamenta sopra un misfatto, in 2013, a theatrical rewriting of Medea by Christian Wolf directed by Giuliana Musso. In 2015, she created Sorry, boys, the third show of her trilogy on female resistances. In 2020, she was selected for chantiers d’Europe with il canto della caduta. Since 2022, she has been an associate artist at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. Corvidae.
