Discovering the most famous custom in France

The exhibition is designed by specialists in the customs of Normandy, under the direction of Sophie Poirey, and is intended for all audiences.

It is presented in the graffiti rooms of the Manoir du Catel where those awaiting judgment were held in this place built under Saint Louis by Richard de Treigos, the 10th Abbot of Fécamp.

Panels, documents, and illustrations allow for a retracing of the history, principles, and anecdotes that punctuate the deployment of this unifying cement of Norman identity beyond the borders of Normandy.

A wonderful discovery of the most famous custom in France that has traversed the centuries and major historical events and remains alive in the Channel Islands!
