Comparative histories of the diocese of Séez and William the Conqueror and his successors, at the time of the refounding of the Abbey of Saint Martin of Sées.

At the cathedral of Sées, an exhibition presents illustrated timelines dedicated to William the Conqueror as well as the history of the diocese of Séez during the time of the refounding of the Abbey of Saint-Martin.

It also features an exhibition on manuscripts loaned by Normandie Livre & Lecture (N2L), offering insights into the history, production, and transmission of these precious testimonies of written heritage.

Designed in connection with the path offered at the museum of religious art of Sées, this presentation provides an initial approach to the themes developed around manuscripts and the historical context of the ducal period. Located within the cathedral, it is aimed at a wide audience and supports the discovery of the monument.

This awareness-raising tour invites visitors to extend their visit to the museum of religious art, where the collections allow for a deeper understanding of these documents and the exploration of their material and heritage aspects.
