Part 2

Emma of Normandy, Northern Marriage is the second part of the trilogy dedicated to Emma of Normandy, a major historical figure.

Emma of Normandy, The First Crown, the first part, immersed the viewer in the political intrigues of the 11th century. As England is shaken by Danish invasions, Emma, a young Norman princess, sees her life thrown into turmoil. Married to Æthelred the Unready, she becomes queen consort and must navigate the complex alliances and ruthless rivalries that tear the kingdom apart. Blending history and fiction, this play explores the torments of a woman trapped by events, confronted with both the violence of men and the limitations imposed on her power.

This year 2027 offers the opportunity to present both episodes independently or in a single evening.

The second part, Emma of Normandy, Northern Marriage focuses on a period of exceptional density
: four years during which four kings succeed one another on the throne of England. From Sven's death to Æthelred's return, to Edmond's struggle and Knut's ultimate victory, the narrative explores the rapid shifts of power. Emma leads her destiny with singular determination, navigating the statuses of exiled queen, restored, and then once again crowned at the cost of a strategic alliance with the Danish conqueror.
