Part 2

Emma of Normandy, Northern Wedding is the second part of the trilogy dedicated to Emma of Normandy, a major historical figure.

Emma of Normandy, the first crown, the first part immerses the viewer in the political intrigues of the 11th century. As England is shaken by Danish invasions, Emma, a young Norman princess, sees her life turned upside down. Married to Æthelred the Unready, she becomes queen consort and must navigate the complex alliances and relentless rivalries tearing the kingdom apart. Between history and fiction, this play explores the torments of a woman trapped in events, confronted by the violence of men and the limits imposed on her power.

This year 2027 is the opportunity to play the two episodes independently or in one single evening.

The second part, Emma of Normandy, Northern Wedding focuses on a period of exceptional density: four years during which four kings succeed each other on the throne of England. From Sven's death to Æthelred's return, to the struggle of Edmund and the ultimate victory of Knut, the narrative explores the rapid shifts of power. Emma guides her destiny with a singular determination, navigating between the statuses of exiled queen, restored, and then crowned again at the cost of a strategic alliance with the Danish conqueror.
