Exhibition, Collaborative Embroidery

An exhibition that brings together two textile creations that give voice and presence back to Emma of Normandy, an essential figure long relegated to the shadows.
A contemporary tapestry, designed by Audrey Demarre with students, revisits the Bayeux tapestry by embroidering the erased episodes of Emma's life.
Alliances, travels, powers, and lineages become the threads of a reinvented narrative.

In echo, a participatory embroidery places Emma's silhouette at the center of an embroidered family tree. Through this gesture: to name, to situate, to connect, everyone has contributed to an evolving collective story.
