Scandinavian-inspired boats: join the gathering
In 2027, a major gathering of Scandinavian-inspired vessels will make its way across Normandy. Are you the owner of a Scandinavian-inspired boat and would you like to take part in this adventure? You can contact Événements Voiles Traditions, the nautical coordinators, at: normandie2027@evt-infos.com.
Made up of 30 to 40 vessels, the flotilla will travel across Normandy from one estuary to another, evoking both the Viking raids and William the Conqueror’s fleet.
Several stopovers and highlights are planned, combining sailing, visits, events, activities and educational initiatives both on land and on the water, as well as opportunities to raise awareness of maritime culture, Norman history and contemporary issues relating to the sea, climate, mobility and cooperation.
The flotilla is due to depart from Ornavik (Hérouville-Saint-Clair) on 11 June, with stopovers in Caen, Dives-sur-Mer, Honfleur, Rives-en-Seine and Duclair. It will arrive at the Armada de Rouen site on 19 June and remain there until 27 June.*
Some boats will also be visible along the Normandy coast before and after these dates.
*Subject to change.
