Millenium 2027: an exceptional year

In 2027, Normandy celebrates a thousand years of heritage with over 1,000 events. In partnership with several European territories, 2027 will be a year of celebrations, discoveries, exchanges and shared emotions.

The Millenium programme is rich and varied: live arts, music, heritage, medieval festivals and events, sporting events, conferences... Project leaders and partner countries create events together to celebrate this year.

Not to be missed in 2027:

"The Normans in the Middle Ages, a European Adventure 911-1204"
At The Abbaye aux Dames in Caen, Normandy Region presents an exhibition dedicated to the Normans in the Middle Ages. The exhibition invites visitors to embark on the heart of the Norman adventure. The route combines objects, maps and playful and immersive devices to retrace the history of the territory, from its major figures to its attachment to the Kingdom of France.
The Doors of Millenium
In Caen, The Abbaye aux Dames transforms. A collective digital fresco, monumental projections, sound and artistic creations bring the Norman history to life, guided by the voice of Matilda of Flanders.
Maritime Gathering
A fleet of Scandinavian-inspired ships crosses the Norman estuaries: departure from Ornavik, stopovers in Caen, Dives-sur-Mer, Honfleur, arrival in Rouen at the Armada site.*
Fabula
A show by the Gratte Ciel Company crosses five Norman towns over five festive weekends, blending circus, procession, music and images.
