Festival The Beautiful Escapes®

An unmissable event of the summer, the Les Échappées belles® festival returns to energize the city of Alençon for its 29th edition!

The invited artists transform the streets, gardens, squares, and courtyards of the city of the Dukes into a vast space of creation, where the public space becomes an open-air stage.

The festival offers a festive and accessible program, blending theater, dance, circus, music, and street arts, in a spirit that is both poetic, quirky, and generous. The proposals are aimed at all generations and promote encounters between disciplines and audiences.

In harmony with Millenium, particularly celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of the birth of William the Conqueror, the festival hosts several performances that resonate with medieval history and Norman heritage, placing contemporary creation within a historical and cultural continuity.
