At the Fosses d'Enfer, visual artist Alexis Debeuf takes over the cultural center with an exhibition dedicated to stained glass, which he distorts from its traditional uses to apply it to familiar objects.

In an almost urban atmosphere, with its signs, shops... the freezer of an ice cream maker, urban furniture, advertising panels become the supports for unusual stained glass. By replacing their glass surfaces with assemblies of pieces of glass, the artist transforms functional objects into luminous sculptures, both absurd and poetic.

“Aux éclats” questions what stained glass can tell today. After having accompanied major religious and collective narratives, particularly in the rich glass heritage of Normandy, could it become the mirror of our own contemporary mythologies? Advertising slogans, consumption, and ordinary objects are thus transposed into a material and technique laden with histories.

An exhibition where heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary creation meet to offer a fresh perspective on our environment.
