A writing workshop explores the imagination of Norman chess through emblematic figures, such as the so-called game of Charlemagne or the pieces from the Isle of Lewis.
Each piece becomes a narrative starting point: a queen from the North, a bishop of Byzantine origins, a knight caught in a storm. The pieces come to life, the games transform into stories.

The workshop relies on an approach to writing as a means of transmission and sharing. It emphasizes exploring otherness and inventing singular paths, inviting participants to give voice to fictional characters and unexpected destinies. Writing thus becomes a space for relationship, empathy, and collective creation.
