The great voyages in the history of Caen
17 August 2027
This guided tour delves into the history of Caen through the journeys of those who left or adopted it.
Explorers, travelers, and newcomers from various backgrounds have, at different times, contributed to the city's history. Often forgotten, they have nonetheless left many traces, visible in the language, customs, architecture, and street names. Through their stories, the tour offers a journey through time, from the Viking era to the workers of the Reconstruction, passing through the merchants of the Renaissance, the King's Daughters, and the explorers of the 19th century.
An original way to discover Caen from the perspective of departures, arrivals, and exchanges that have shaped its identity over the centuries.
