Guided tour of the Château d'Arques
from 19 September 2027
to 20 September 2027
The siege of the castle in 1053 by Duke William against his uncle William of Talou
The association "Let's Save Arques Castle" offers guided tours on the occasion of the castle's opening. Organized in groups of fifteen people, these tours allow visitors to discover the history of the site and its role in ducal Normandy. Eight tours of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes are scheduled each day.
The theme chosen for the month of September is dedicated to the origins of William, Duke of Normandy. A Viking camp set up on the site illustrates Normandy's Scandinavian heritage and showcases various aspects of daily life through themed workshops and demonstrations.
Activities also punctuate these two days. Play areas set up on the castle esplanade allow visitors to discover fun activities inspired by the Middle Ages, suitable for both young and old.
On Sunday at 2 p.m., a narrated and musical tour completes the program. Accompanied by storytellers and musicians, it features four characters who have marked the history of the castle over the centuries and offers a lively approach to its past.
