Artistic Itinerary of the Norman Builders

The photographic exhibition "Historic Monuments – Artistic Itinerary of the Norman Builders" proposes a visual journey through the main monuments of Norman heritage, from Normandy to Sicily, engaging territories united by a common history.

Through an original photographic technique based on long exposure times and the chromatic transformation of the image, artists Julie Audic and Christian Rizk offer a poetic, pictorial, and contemporary reinterpretation of abbeys, cathedrals, castles, and palaces that have marked the history of the Norman world. The exhibition has been conceived as a resonance between Northern and Southern Europe, bringing together emblematic monuments of Normandy and Southern Italy, highlighting the historical, artistic, and cultural ties that have developed between the two regions since the 11th century.

The exhibition includes a stop in Palermo and subsequently a Norman stop at the Abbey of Fontaine-Guérard in Normandy, aiming to offer the public a sensory experience where heritage, memory, and contemporary creation intersect to recount the extraordinary European adventure of the Normans.
