How romantic!

HOW ROMANTIC, created by Katerina Andreou with Carte Blanche, is an ironic reflection on how we perceive the struggles of life as a spectacle. We witness an intense marathon, echoing the dance marathons held in the United States during the Great Depression.
There are no winners or losers, only 14 experienced dancers who, in couples, alone, or like a herd of horses, advance through movement and sound in an unrelenting choreography. Through demonstrations of strength, joy, and exhaustion, they encourage each other in an energetic mix of abandon and rigorous discipline. It is a collision between order and chaos, in a feverish quest for something real.

HOW ROMANTIC opens a space for reflection on power and relationships, intimacy, imposed entertainment, and perhaps on the role of love as the ultimate finish line of any race, even when it seems out of reach.
