Inter-Normand Béhourd Tournament

The Tournament of Conquerors is an international béhourd tournament organized by the association Diex Aïe – Normandie Béhourd.

Inspired by the great Norman epic tales of the Middle Ages, the event brings together, for an immersive day, teams from Normandy, England, Ireland, Sicily, and Southern Italy around a spectacular discipline: béhourd, a medieval combat sport in full armor. Supervised by specialized referees and governed by modern safety rules, the matches consist of teams of five fighters in an arena that meets international standards.

Beyond the sporting competition, the project is a celebration of Norman and European heritage. Organized within the future permanent Viking camp of Saint-Valéry-en-Caux, the tournament unfolds in an immersive setting designed to host historical reenactments, cultural activities, and public events.

Alongside the combats, a medieval festival offers demonstrations of historical fighting, introductions to soft-armored combat and archery, concerts, fire shows, an artisan market, a medieval banquet, and meetings with the participating teams.

Through this project, Diex Aïe promotes the historical legacy of the Normans, supports the development of béhourd in Normandy, and strengthens cultural ties between European territories shaped by Norman history.
