Love, Glory, and Conquest

Story Exhibition

William the Conqueror and Raowl invest in William the Conqueror's castle for the third edition of the great winter exhibitions.
The journey traces the origins of the character and follows his epic to the throne of England.

The artist Tébo (The Youth of Mickey, Who is this Smurf?, Raowl, Captain Biceps) offers a humorous, lively, and offbeat reinterpretation alongside Raowl, a massive creature with a tender heart and a straightforward temperament.
Around the life of William, stories intertwine with legends.
The exhibition questions their veracity, distinguishing proven facts from exaggerations, and relies on Raowl to untangle the true from the false.
Monumental illustrations, projections, life-size sets, soundscapes, and a reinterpretation of the Bayeux tapestry transform the castle's rooms and immerse visitors in an epic and delightful universe.

A scientific committee composed of historians ensures the rigor of the contents. This work reconsiders knowledge, places events in their context, and offers a clear and updated reading of history in 2027.

Artist: Fred Thébault, known by the artist name Tébo
Scientific Committee: Hugo Fresnel, Associate Professor of Medieval History at the University of Picardie and Bastien Michel, PhD student in Medieval History at the University of Caen Normandy.
