Making A Mark 

Community Heritage Skills Programme 

This programme provides residents of all ages with the opportunity to take part in a creative, heritage skills workshops and demonstrations. 

It includes the creation of a community quilt with needlework elements inspired by the Bayeaux tapestry and featuring the blue flax flower which features in both the emblems of Dives-Sur-Mer and Carrickfergus. 

The programme includes a variety of workshops including basket making, weaving, wood carving, blacksmithing and spinning.

This programme is delivered by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and forms part of a wider international collaboration with the town of Dives-sur-Mer in Normandy, the historic departure point of William the Conqueror on his expedition to England.
