Animations and Medieval Life within the Castle Walls

As part of the 23rd edition of the Medieval Festival of Domfront, the medieval castle grounds transform into a historical immersive space rooted in the 11th century.

The site becomes a living conservatory where several reenactment camps are set up, showcasing the lifestyles, customs, costumes, and forms of medieval habitation in an authentic manner.

The path is enriched with workshops highlighting ancient crafts, such as shield making, candle making, or period games, set within their historical and political context.

Chivalry is a central part of the activities with combat demonstrations and equestrian shows showcasing technical skills, commitment, and military power, complemented by activities suitable for younger audiences.

The live performance permeates the event through street theater interventions that combine walks and vignettes, bringing medieval stories to life, while musicians provide a continuous sound atmosphere throughout the day with period instruments and repertoires.

All participants are dressed in medieval costumes within a meticulously designed setting to preserve the visual authenticity of the classified site. The organization of spaces smoothly blends encampments, workshops, performance areas, and musical interventions, respecting the heritage.
