The Medieval Festival of Domfront

The event stands out as one of the highlights of the summer season in Normandy. For this 23rd edition, the Medieval Festival offers special activities related to the Millennium anniversary, while remaining true to its essence: an historical immersion in the heart of the medieval city and the castle site. On the program: artisan market, strolling music (Rhésus, etc.), street theater, historical encampments, educational workshops, activities (flag throwers...), and a grand jousting show. A large parade also enlivens the three days of festivities, providing the public with a strong and spectacular moment. On-site, the public can enjoy a varied range of dining options with taverns, hot food stands, and an animated medieval banquet (by reservation). Supported by a non-profit association, the event relies on the commitment of its members and numerous volunteers. The board of directors mobilizes for 16 months, while 80 volunteers work for 10 days to set up, prepare, and welcome visitors. Together, they bring a major event to life and actively contribute to the dynamism of the local, departmental, and regional area.
