In Pont-Audemer, the origins of the town are linked to an ancient core located around Tourville, whose name evokes Torf, the presumed ancestor of the Vieilles and Beaumont families. The area of Pont-Audemer appears to be a subdivision of this initial settlement and established itself as an important market as early as the 11th century, documented as early as 1034-1035. In this historical context, a medieval festival is organized around a craft market set up near the Saint-Ouen church, in the eponymous square and in the area of Rue de l’Épée, recreating the commercial atmosphere of the 11th century. On the occasion of the **Mascarets festival**, as part of a series of medieval festivities in Pont-Audemer, Montfort-sur-Risle, and Brionne. **Practical information:** All audiences Free **Partnerships:** Community of communes Pont-Audemer Val de Risle, Eurêka (Eure CT), Crédit Agricole Normandie Seine, Town Hall of Pont-Audemer
