After the arrival of the Normans at Mont Saint-Michel, the dukes of the 11th century will completely transform the site of the famous pilgrimage: from a small church on the hillside, a huge church surrounded by an abbey will emerge at the border of Brittany to mark the power of the Duchy of the Men of the North.
