Through around forty photographs alternating between sweeping views of thousand-year-old castles and intricate details reminiscent of illuminated manuscripts, Italian photographer Nicola Amato takes us on a powerful journey through time. The exhibition also reveals the striking landscapes of Apulia, where sea and mountains meet in one of southern Italy’s most beautiful regions.

His photographs also remind us of the extraordinary reach of the Normans a thousand years ago, as they spread across every corner of the European continent, carrying with them their culture, their taste for warfare, and the artistic refinement of the craftsmen who accompanied them.
