Step back in time and discover medieval Carlisle

From the Norman conquest to the Wars of the Roses, explore the medieval border city of Carlisle with Sir Hamo, knight and clerk of the royal kitchen, who uses detailed, historical character role-play to bring the past to life.

Find out how the sons and grandchildren of the Conqueror changed Carlisle forever and why both English and Scottish kings fought over this territory, right through to the ends of the Wars of the Roses.
Meet your guide, adorned in historical costume alongside replicas, as you time travel past medieval sites, hearing tales of sieges, traders and sneaky border reivers!

Your guide, Tom Hudson, is a professional historian, actor, and tour guide based in North-West England. He runs Live History, a heritage organisation delivering tours, workshops, and historical events across the region.
