to 29 August 2027

Medieval Festival of Norman Sicily

This medieval event honors the Norman epic in Southern Italy in the 11th century and commemorates the conquest of Sicily by Roger de Hauteville, who became Roger I of Sicily. It is in the spirit of the famous Palio dei Normanni of Piazza Armerina, Sicily, which annually celebrates this historical heritage.

Organized in the exceptional setting of the Château de Chaulieu (Manche), the event brings together equestrian games, animations, historical reenactments, and conferences on the history of the Normans and their presence in the Mediterranean.
Through this international cultural and historical partnership, the event highlights the ties that bind Normandy and Southern Italy. It shines a light on an exceptional shared heritage, of which several major sites are now listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites, testifying to the richness and lasting influence of this shared history.

Organized by the Association Normandy - Sicily founded in 1962
