Embroidering the Thread of History

This joint and participatory project invites the public to discover the Bayeux stitch, the emblematic embroidery stitch of the Bayeux Tapestry, by contributing to the reproduction of scene 38 of the famous tapestry, titled The Mora, the renowned ship of William the Conqueror.

Everyone takes part in the collective embroidery while exchanging and discovering the history of the Bayeux Tapestry and the conquest of England by William the Conqueror.

Accessible to all, this event is intended to be friendly and free of charge: everyone participates at their own pace, for the duration of their choice.
This activity is part of the inauguration of the medieval village Varendel in Domfront.
