Pendulum in troubadour mode
from 27 March 2027
to 31 December 2027
Exhibition
The watchmaking museum of Saint-Nicolas d’Aliermont is part of the Millennium dynamic with a large-scale temporary exhibition, Clock in Troubadour Mode, accompanied by an ambitious educational and cultural program.
Like the unique establishment of watchmaking in Normandy, the exhibition offers an original perspective on Norman history by exploring the Middle Ages through the troubadour style of the 19th century. Taking the so-called "cathedral clocks" as a starting point, it highlights the characteristics of this artistic movement and the connections it has with the Norman medieval heritage, both material and immaterial.
This approach also helps to understand how the troubadour style has significantly contributed to shaping the contemporary representation of the Middle Ages.
