When history comes to life in Harcourt

After his victory at Hastings, William crosses the Channel to rule over England. In Normandy, he leaves behind his wife Matilda of Flanders and their son Robert Curthose, a young heir eager for knowledge and adventure.
Under the watchful eye of his tutor, a scholar… but above all a lover of good food, Robert learns the art of combat, listens to stories of great battles, and marvels at the novelties from across the Channel.

Blending Norman and local history, medieval music, and sword demonstrations, this walk invites you to share the daily lives of these three characters.
