When history comes to life at Harcourt

After his victory at Hastings, William crosses the Channel to reign over England. In Normandy, he leaves behind his wife Matilda of Flanders and their son Robert Curthose, a young heir eager for knowledge and adventure.
Under the watchful eye of his tutor, who is learned… but mainly a lover of good food, Robert learns the art of combat, listens to tales of great battles, and marvels at the novelties from across the Channel.

Blending Norman and local history, medieval music, and sword demonstrations, this event invites you to share the daily life of these three characters.
